About Our Event

CRDF Global is pleased to host a two-day workshop, titled Coordinating with German Partners to Counter Russian and Belarusian Defense Sector Sanctions Evasion, to be held in Berlin, Germany on March 18-19, 2024 at the offices of the German Council on Foreign Relations.

This two-day workshop is intended for professionals in the defense sector and related institutions, think tanks, as well as relevant government stakeholders responsible for trade and enforcement of international sanctions regimes. 

Participants attending this event will have the opportunity to engage with our experts Dr. Andrea Viski and Bethany Owens Banks, in topics of interest including proliferation finance, identification of sanctions evasions techniques and mitigating associated risks, dual-use components, and arms sales/proliferation, and will have the opportunity to network with industry peers to build lasting relationships and cooperation.  

Discussions will cover the current sanctions environment and help participants identify the sanctions and reputational risks associated with doing business with prohibited Russian and Belarussian firms, strengthen current Russian and Belarussian sanctions implementation activities, and enhance information sharing between public and private sector actors to rapidly identify and prevent Russian and Belarussian sanctions evasion activity in partner countries. 

During the workshop, all in attendance will have the opportunity and are encouraged to share their unique perspective regarding their experience with risk management, customer due diligence, and more. Representatives of given participating institutions may also request a one-on-one consultation of the days of the workshop to engage and receive advice from SMEs for their organizations. 

The workshop will be conducted in English.
