Event summary

Join CRDF Global, in collaboration with SANS Institute, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this September 12, 2025, from 2:00-6:00 PM local time, for an immersive cybersecurity exercise designed to test and strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration in the face of a complex cyber crisis.

This event will take place during the LATAM CISO Summit and will use Cyber42 simulation game by SANS Institute.

This event will offer a dynamic environment where participants of all backgrounds confront real-time cyber incidents. Whether you are a student (Master's, PhD) in a relevant area, a policy expert, a legal advisor, an organizational leader, or a technical specialist, you'll play a critical role in responding to escalating threats.

This exercise underscores that cybersecurity is a "team sport" — demanding coordinated action across agencies, sectors, and areas of expertise. Participants must build situational awareness, execute joint responses, and manage the intertwined technical, legal, and policy dimensions of a cyber attack.

While technical teams online engage in hands-on problem solving, non-technical participants will handle strategic coordination, communications, and decision-making, making this event a comprehensive experience that mirrors the complexity of modern cyber threats.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This event is well suited for mid-career professionals and university students (master's, PhD, postgraduate level) in the field relevant to cybersecurity, including technical, legal, organizational/executive, government, or policy-making, with demonstrated interest in the field.

It is open specifically for participants from Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia.

The language of instruction will be English.

Those with a technical background are encouraged to participate online competition.

LATAM CISO SUMMIT

The LATAM CISO Summit 2025, scheduled for September 11-13 in Rio de Janeiro, is an important gathering for cybersecurity leaders across Latin America. The event focuses on practical discussions around the most pressing cybersecurity challenges and solutions for the region. It brings together CISOs, security professionals, and industry experts to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and discuss the latest trends in cybersecurity.

The 2025 event aims to build on this success by offering even more sessions, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities to help organizations strengthen their security
strategies.
