Investing in Advanced Technologies: Risks and Opportunities
10 December 2024 | Prague, Czechia
OVERVIEW
The U.S. Department of State and CRDF Global are pleased to invite you to a roundtable discussion on managing risk associated with advanced technologies with military and civilian applications.
The roundtable will provide a forum to discuss risk management using data-driven decision making to conduct more efficient due diligence screening. Following the roundtable, attendees will be able to strengthen their firm's compliance with international sanctions frameworks and mitigate financial, reputational, and legal risks to their companies and investment portfolios.
The roundtable presentation will feature case studies showcasing how technology and related components may end up in the hands of authoritarian governments. Experts will provide examples of obfuscation techniques sanctioned actors use to procure Western technology and highlight the tech and financial sector's role in countering this proliferation. Participants will receive guidance on list-based screening services for sanctions compliance, and sample contract language to strengthen due diligence processes and recommendations for risk management related to dual-use technologies.
The roundtable will be held in Prague on 10 December 2024 from 9:00-12:00 with a networking lunch to follow from 12:00-13:00. Registrants will receive updates on the venue and agenda in December 2024 if their registration is approved.
