SAFEGUARD OPEN AND COLLABORATIVE RESEACH

Emerging technology, research, and data are the center of attention for malign actors seeking to target, exploit, and divert sensitive information for dangerous purposes. As the Southeast Asia region rises as a technology innovation hub, robust institutional research compliance, and cybersecurity network protection are crucial to preventing, detecting, and responding to the continuous threat of malign actors seeking to gain access licitly or illicitly to at-risk technologies through research and cyber vulnerabilities. Now more than ever, research and cybersecurity compliance officers, lead scientists, developers, and executives that manage advanced technologies and/or conduct research in dual-use fields are at the front of safeguarding information from theft and misuse.

CRDF Global is pleased to sponsor an online training course for scientists, researchers, and practitioners from associations and private companies in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam. The online training will be offered free of charge from August to December 31, 2023. Select registrants will also be considered for an in-person workshop to be held in Singapore in October 2023.

WHY PARTICIPATE?

Learn how digital threat actors can licitly and illicitly access your research, data, and technologies through vulnerabilities in research collaborations and cyber networks. Enhance your institution's capacity to mitigate these risks by examining the relationship between human, cyber, and institutional security best practices to be responsible stewards of science and technology in the research and cyber domain. Prepare for the challenges of the digital age through seven pre-recorded modules from a leading expert on;

  • Digital Threat Actors
  • Catalyzing Research Collaborations While Securing Data
  • Multifactor Authentication Systems
  • Password Management
  • Phishing and Social Engineering
  • Email Encryption
  • Endpoint Security

Receive quizzes and tip sheets to further your understanding of the course's topics and strengthen your institution's security. Validate your knowledge of digital threats and best practices to secure your institutions' sensitive research, data, and technology by receiving a certificate of course completion.

Individuals demonstrating a strong interest in continuing discussions on the course's topics and an ability to take relevant next steps to implement measures to create a more secure environment at their organizations will be invited to attend a two-day, in-person workshop in Singapore in October 2023. The two-day, in-person workshop will build upon the topics covered during the online course and other relevant subjects. Of those selected, many may be eligible for travel support to attend the event in Singapore.

Participants interested in attending the workshop in Singapore must complete the online training course by August 25, 2023.
