Conference on Strengthening Research Security & Protecting Innovation in Europe’s Academic and Research Institutions

The Conference on Strengthening Research Security & Protecting Innovation in Europe’s Academic and Research Institutions will bring together universities, research institutions, and government agencies from across Europe to strengthen research security and address shared challenges. Participants will exchange practical tools, compare approaches, and improve regional coordination to protect innovation while keeping research open and collaborative. Experts from Europe, the US, and Canada will contribute perspectives that complement ongoing European efforts and enrich the overall dialogue on these topics. 

Day 1 (19 January) of each conference is intended for Institutional Leaders only. 

Days 2 and 3 (20 and 21 January) are intended for the other tracks – Government Stakeholders, Research and Knowledge Security Officers, and Researchers and Scientists. The second and third day will both begin with plenary sessions, for all attendees to participate in (institutional leaders are welcome to join the morning plenaries), and end with track-specific breakout sessions.

Who Should Attend 
Eligible Positions: Institutional leaders, government stakeholders, scientist/researchers, research security officers and managers

Eligible Countries: Open to participants employed in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Registration, Fees, and Logistics 
Registration is free of charge for selected participants. 

All participants will receive lunch during each workshop day, along with coffee and snacks.
