
Best Practices in Research Security in Thailand
Event Summary
Join the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State and CRDF Global, in Bangkok, Thailand, December 15-17, 2025 for a three-day, in-person workshop.
You will explore the latest approaches and challenges in research security to understand why and how to implement security processes and procedures to protect intellectual property, safeguard sensitive research, and mitigate potential institutional risks. Expert-led sessions and hands-on exercises will provide practical tools to detect and deter these threats, implement internal controls, and establish a robust culture of research security.
The agenda includes briefings on nonproliferation fundamentals, real-world case studies of attempted exploitation, and guidance on aligning institutional practices with globally recognized compliance standards. Scenario-based activities will invite opportunities for dialogue in the process of strategizing research security best practices applicable to Thai research institutions.
